Soulful R’n’B swooner Banks has been pretty quiet as of late, but don’t fear – she’s back with a bang with new single ‘Fuck With Myself’.
The track is accompanied by a fresh new video, featuring Banks in a room being surrounded by some odd masked dancers before setting a bust of herself on fire. Pretty much sounds like our regular Friday night.
Debuted on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, the singer talked about the track’s meaning. “There’s so many meanings to it,” she explained. “It could be like, ’I fuck with myself,’ like, ’I mess with myself more than anybody else.’ It could be, ’I fuck with myself,’ kind of like, ’I’m feeling myself.’ It means a lot of different things that I think a lot of people can relate to.”
It’s the first slice from her upcoming sophomore album, the follow-up to her 2014 debut ‘Goddess’, which is set for release on September 30th.
