There are a whopping five headliners playing Reading & Leeds this year: from homegrown heroes Foals, Biffy Clyro and Disclosure, to pop punk kings Fall Out Boy, to, well, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Everyone has their favourite – and we made a few of the other bands on the line up pick theirs’.
“We were lucky enough to play with Biffy Clyro in Belfast recently and their set was incredible. I also really want to see Foals’ coming-of-age slot, I think it’s going to be a very special moment.” – Mattie, VANT
“Tough one, I’ve seen Biffy so many times and they are always outrageous. Seeing them close Reading will be really special. But I think Foals this year just about pips it, mainly because I haven’t seen them live yet, but also because their drummer is out of this world!” – Mark, Black Foxxes
“Foals, it’ll be a beautiful moment.” – James and Chloe, INHEAVEN
“Mon the Biff!” – Matt, Heck
“It would be great to see RHCP. I saw them play Hyde park about 13 years ago. They used to be my favourite band back then, so I’m excited to see how they have changed live, with the obvious exception of having a different guitarist.” – Adam, Arcane Roots
“Disclosure. I love fist pumping. Maybe they’ll ask me to come up and guest fist pump and press play for a couple songs. That’d be the dream.” – Seb, SWMRS
“Foals or Biffy Clyro. I’ve never seen either band live, but have heard very good things about both bands’ live sets. Unfortunately, Biffy Clyro is playing different dates than us, so I’ll have to wait to catch them live.” – Riley, Thrice
“Disclosure. They’re always on in the dressing room before shows.” – Tom, Blossoms
“Foals, it’s really cool watching them crush the massive stages and it’s really nice to see all of Transgressive’s proud faces afterwards.” – Harris, Blaenavon
“100% RHCP, even though they don’t have John Frusciante playing guitar for them anymore, I’m sure it will be amazing.” – James, Deaf Havana
“Foals, because I love them. Like so much. They’re definitely one of the bands we aspire to be like in terms of career longevity. I predict I’d also be losing my SHIT to the other headliners too, but you gotta pick one so…” – Natti, Fickle Friends
THE WINNER: Foals got the most shout outs from their fellow bands – but since Fall Out Boy got zero name-checks, we clearly asked the wrong people.
