Easy Life: “We’re always pushing to play out new material, it keeps us on our toes”

Catch up with Easy Life ahead this year’s Barn on the Farm. Moo.

We’re not the only ones excited about this year’s Barn on the Farm, which will take place on a real life working farm in Gloucester in just over a week’s time. Honestly, we get inordinately hyped about hanging out with sheep and cows and stuff. They should be top billing on the line-up, really. One of our fave new bands, Easy Life are also looking forward to attending, and according to frontman Murray, if you’re lucky they might just debut some new material…

Hey Murray, how’s it going?
Everything’s good, thanks.

Do you have a busy summer coming up?
Yeah, summer is real busy, we are all over the place. It’s good to keep ourselves busy and have a reason to rehearse. We can’t wait to sweat it out in the back of the van; it’s going to be hot.

Which festival are you most looking forward to?
Barn on the Farm is going to great. I love farms, can’t wait to see the animals and talk to the resident farmer about crop rotation and other such modern farm management tactics, riveting stuff for real.

Have you spent much time at festivals before, did you go to them before you were in a band?
Yes, we have always been festival goers. Forever in the deepest darkest corner of the drum and bass tent.

What’s the best festival set you’ve ever witnessed?
Roots Manuva, Y-Not 2012. Mad vibes.

Is there anyone you’re especially looking forward to seeing at festivals this year?
Post Malone. That shit’s going to euphoric. I think he’s the man.

Are you going to try out any new tracks live this summer?
So many new tunes will be played. We are always pushing to play out new material, it’s a challenge and keeps us on our toes. We are planning on playing the mixtape out in full and all connected in a 20 min music extravaganza. It will be a spectacle.

What do you think is key to enjoying a full-on three-days-in-a-field festival?
Surrounding yourself with people you love and respect is the answer to any hardship.
