Brighton’s Echochamp collective – home to Sulky Boy and The Magic Gang’s Paeris Giles and Gus Taylor, among others – are kicking off a new residency at the Old Blue Last. Starting on Friday 1st September with Birdskulls and Bloody Death, they’re bringing the buzziest up-and-comers to one of London’s most popular venues, all completely free.
To celebrate, they’ve put together a playlist featuring some of their hometown’s best.
Bloody Death – The Past Is Boring
A really cool song from some of the spookiest individuals in Brighton.
MOONOVERSUN – MIXTAPE 1
Saw these guys for the first time the other day and was really taken aback. Released through our good friends Art Is Hard Records.
Porridge Radio – Sorry
Hit single from ‘Rice, Pasta And Other Fillers’. Please go and check out Memorials of Distinction on bandcamp there’s lot’s of really great stuff there.
Abattoir Blues – Sense
I suppose it’s only fitting to plug some of your own subject matter but this really is, and always has been excellent.
Sulky Boy – Balkan Baby
Sad-boy romanticisms from one our own.
Never – Always Against Me
Honourable mentions to Gutter Knife and State Funeral for making it happen. Check out illegalactivityrecs.bandcamp.com.
Breathe Panel – I See Em Coming
We’re very much looking forward to their debut out next year on Fat Cat Records. Here a little taster.
