2000 Trees Festival turns ten this weekend and instead of hiring a part time magician to do stuff with flowers and milk, they’ve booked a really good lineup.
Although The Magic Gang will be there. Also Will from Creeper can do magic tricks. But apart from that, this introduction is technically correct which is the best kind of correct.
Ahem. Kicking off tomorrow (Thursday 7th July) and lasting for three hopefully glorious days in the Cheltenham sunshine, 2000 Trees is celebrating in style. Headlined by definitely-still-a-rock-band Twin Atlantic and reunited new noisers Refused, the festival makes a point of championing the best and brightest music around. And Ash. But everyone loves Ash so it’s fine.
From the rough and ready chaos of Demob Happy and Tigercub, through the emotionally-driven-but-still-a-bunch-of-fun majesty of Black Foxxes and Muncie Girls into the big hitting swing of Black Honey, Bellevue Days and Kagoule, there’s something for everyone. As long as everyone likes great songs.
Don’t believe us? Here’s a playlist.
Please pay special attention to Vant (the gears are starting to turn and it feels like The Start of Something), Moose Blood (brilliant band, brilliant songs, brilliant new album on the way) and The Magic Gang (just a ridiculous amount of fun). Miss ’em at your peril.
