Abattoir Blues have dropped their new EP ‘Blinded’; a handful of tracks inspired by the post-punk of The Fall and Nick Cave, to precede their upcoming December tour that kicks off next week in Bristol. Frontman Harry Waugh very (very) briefly runs through each of the record’s inclusions, from live faves to new ‘uns.
‘Trying Everything’
One of our favourite songs to play live. The one-two-punch of this and the intro is how we start most of our live shows so it seemed appropriate to do the same here.
‘Change Your Mind’
We’re all really happy with how this one came out, it captures the performances of everyone really well. We recorded the whole EP live so hopefully that extra bit of energy comes across when you listen to it!
‘Blinded’
We’ve been playing this one for quite a while, is a bit of a fan favourite. It’s nice to have been playing this together for so long and to put it on our first EP. Kinda feels like it’s bookending all of the time and energy that’s gone into the band leading up to this point.
‘What You Mean to Be’
The newest song on the EP, I feel like it marries together a lot of what we like doing with the band – the push and pull between aggressive and more pensive elements.
