Happy Accidents is good ol’ noisy pop in the sun at Reading 2016

And we love it.

Who knew that noisy pop would be the perfect antidote for a scorching afternoon in a field? Well, probably quite a lot if you stopped to think about it. Nestled on the BBC Introducing stage, only a certain few seem to be privy to this information, but it’s got everyone dancing.

Happy Accidents are the latest in a string of bands to feel the sense of occasion that comes with Reading and blitz through an infectious pop-rock set that does justice to the fact they used to come to these festivals as teens and find the whole thing rather surreal. “It’s a nice change of events,” they chirp, leaping headfirst back into their set.

Their low key ode to not talking to each other on public transport (‘Quiet’) jumps into, aptly, ‘Small Talk’, a twangy, loud affair. It’s just good ol’ noisy pop in the sun, and there’s little more you could ask for than that.
