It’s the first ever issue of Dork, so we’re introducing you to some of our crew. We’re living in glorious times, where exciting, fresh new bands are popping up from all sides. Bands that, more than anything else, are out to have a bit of fun. This month, we’ve rounded up some of our favourites and thrown them together to give you, dear readers, an idea of just what we’re about.

From Spring King, who have just dropped a debut album sure to rattle the cobwebs out of even the stuffiest scenester, through to Officially Certified Proper Pop Star Shura, there are more fresh, new acts that have us feeling all giddy than you could shake an especially sparkly stick at. There's Honne, The Big Moon, VANT, Diet Cig, Creeper, Black Honey, The Magic Gang, Milk Teeth, INHEAVEN, Frances, Muncie Girls, Fickle Friends, Beach Baby, Blaenavon and loads, loads more - all of them the complete opposite boring. Down with boring.

That's not all, though. We get deep with The Cribs and Pulled Apart By Horses ahead of their massive Millennium Square show in Leeds - one of the biggest homecoming gigs of the year. Yes, it's close enough to Wakefield to count. Shush. We also talk new albums with Broods, introduce you to Let's Eat Grandma, Declan McKenna and Weaves in our new bands section Hype, and explain why, really, you shouldn't get too worked up about a Tom DeLonge-less Blink-182.

There's also a postcard from Big Deal, a summer mixtape from MNEK, all the latest bangers, the new releases rated and slated, Oscar takes on our 20 Questions and a whole bunch more. We've been busy.
