All Points East have announced a new batch of names for this summer’s inaugral event.
Held in London’s Victoria Park across ten days, new acts joining the fun include Soulwax, Kelela, Parcels, Her, Yaeji, Maribou State, Jesse James Solomon, Bones Garage, Abra, Octavian and Debonair.
They’ll join headliners LCD Soundsystem, The xx and Bjork, as well as the likes of Lorde, Beck and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for the three day festival leg of All Points East, taking place between 25th and 27th May.
The festival has also revealed some of its staging plans, including The X Stage – a new ‘in the round’ festival experience for “the finest electronic talent” and The East Stage, which features massive full-heigh sreens and “the most advanced speaker system in the UK”. The West Stage has “an arena level audio system” and “state-of-the-art lighting”, while The North Stage is all concentric arches, “inspired by many of the world’s most beautiful theatres”.
James King, Festival Director says: “Every stage at All Points East is designed to offer fans a different experience wherever they are on the site and at whatever time of the day it may be. Lighting and video are essential to delivering an ever changing and evolving production and live experience. We want the stages to feel unique for every performance so the artists can deliver their own personal vision to their fans, making each set stand out from the last.
To achieve this the East Stage will host a large scale LED screen setup to provide a huge canvas for each artist to deliver their own look and bespoke feel supporting their live performance. The North stage takes inspiration for many of the world’s greatest theatres where concentric arches help achieve lighting spectacles rarely seen outdoors.
The West Stage is simply a full on indoor immersive production set up where large scale lighting and LED combine with great sound and a break from the sun. The X Stage is a new exciting design specifically created for All Posts East. We wanted one of the best quad based systems in the world to deliver a sound field much like the very best clubs did back in the day.
These 4 stages are just the start. The great thing is, there is more to come….”
As well as the three day festival element of All Points East, there’ll be a community focused programme of midweek entertainment, followed by three huge APE Presents headline shows. Catfish and the Bottlemen will headline on 1st June, with The National following on 2nd June, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds closing up on 3rd June.
