Minecraft is Very Popular Indeed, so it’s no surprise that bands are starting to see it as a potential way to push their music.
Leading the line are AlunaGeorge, who will headline a show within the block-building game tomorrow (March 23rd).
Appearing on a three band bill alongside Broiler and Lemaitre, the gig will take place in the ‘real world’ and then be streamed to players inside the game – alongside avatars representing the band members.
George’s avatar will obviously be sat back in his digital bedroom, working on new tunes.
The gig is the work of Heisholt Inc. as part of Norwegian tech event The Gathering. “I’m sure they’ll be able to accommodate around 2,000 to 3,000 people, so this will have the same sort of feel as seeing a show in small concert venue,” founder Erik Heisholt said.
Sort of, Erik. Sort of.
