And the winner of the Mercury Prize 2017 is… Sampha!

Sampha has won the Mercury Prize 2017 with his debut album, ‘Process’.

Glass Animals were last minute favourites to win the gong with their album ‘How To Be A Human Being’, overtaking Kate Tempest earlier today.

The winner was revealed this evening during a ceremony at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith at which each of the nominees bar Ed Sheeran performed.

This year’s judging panel featured Jamie Cullum, Ella Eyre, Lianne La Havas, MistaJam, Jessie Ware and Marcus Mumford, amongst others.
