In what looks like a pretty decent new way of announcing acts for festivals, Field Day have confirmed that Aphex Twin will be headlining the London bash in 2017 with a scratchcard.
Over the weekend, flyers were handed out at the Independent Label Market in the capital, which included a range of scratch off panels, which when taken away reveal the Field Day Twitter handle, one of the festival’s dates and an Aphex Twin logo.
In his first UK live show in over five years, the elusive producer is set to play a two-hour set in the festival’s new indoor arena The Barn – which is set to act as an alternative to all the Main Stage shenanigans.
Field Day co-founder Tom Baker said: “It’s truly amazing to have Aphex Twin headline Field Day, I’ve been listening to him since I was 16, he played and curated some of the first ever Eat Your Own Ears nights (the most memorable being a warehouse on Brick Lane that got closed down by the police!). It will be a phenomenal, mind-blowing, mesmerisingly fantastic two hours of absolute genius”
Field Day 2017 is set to take place on the Saturday June 3rd.
