It looks as if technology behemoth Apple has set its sights on swallowing the vanity project from Jay-Z and his high flying cohorts.
Tidal, which launched a little under a year and a half ago in March 2015 was a supposed platform for the artist to take back control of their music by offering a more favourable income method.
Though nothing is confirmed (nor denied) by either party, sources are saying Apple are most interested in the exclusive artists held by TIDAL (The Life Of Pablo, anyone?), rather than the original selling point of hi-fidelity streaming. If this acquisition were to take place it would certainly boost Apple’s lead in the ever-changing streaming popularity contest.
