Arcade Fire have delivered their fifteen minute epic video for ‘Put Your Money On Me’ and ‘We Don’t Deserve Love’.
Titled ‘Money + Love’, the film pays off on the band’s ‘Everything Now’ campaign, based around commercialism and ‘infinite content’. Bringing the theme round full circle, it sees the band forced to sign up to an overbearing corporation in order to keep afloat. After trying to make a run with the money, the band are captured and forced to slave away in a sort of musical deep mining operation.
It makes sense, honest. Even the branded fidget spinners kind of seem reasonable after watching.
Directed by David Wilson and starring Toni Collette, you can check it out below.
Win Butler says of the clip: “The concept of a double video really appealed to us, we’d always loved songs being put together as A and B sides… and these songs seemed perfect together. David has been a great collaborator for us since Reflektor and we were finally able to work with Toni whom we’d been wanting to work with for some time.”
Arcade Fire have also recently extended their summer tour with some new US shows.
