The Avalanches postpone shows on medical advice

They won’t be leaving Australia for a while.

The Avalanches have postponed some live shows due to health concerns.

After a sixteen year wait for a second album, the band released ‘Wildflower’ earlier this month. However, they won’t be taking it out of Australia for a while, after Toni Di Blasi was advised against international travel.

A statement from the band explains Di Blasi “has been advised against international travel for the next few months.” That rules out European shows including Lowlands Festival, Way Out West and Fort de Saint-Pére.

It does leave The Avalanches able to take up their headline slot at Splendour in the Grass in their native Aus later this month, so that’s at least something.
