Icelandic five-piece Mammút are today premiering their new track ‘The Moon Will Never Turn On Me’ – check it out below, first on Dork.
It’s the latest expansive and emotive cut from new album ‘Kinder Versions’, released on 14th July via Bella Union. The band say of the track:
“When you realise that everything must somehow be ok, that the world just continues spinning and we sometimes just have to sit back, let go and embrace every horrible thing that comes with it.
“The Moon Will Never Turn On Me’ is in its way a reaction to the rest of the album.
“We wish Michael Jackson could hear it, we think he would have really liked it.
“The song was written in a big warehouse in the outskirts of Reykjavik. Everything sounded boomy and had to be big to make sense in that space. We wrote it as a huge guitar anthem but when we brought it into the studio we realised it was the only song that didn’t ask for guitars. So they where translated into cello by Júlía, Katrína’s sister.”
