The stars of track and field are still beautiful people, it seems, as Belle and Sebastian have unveiled another tribute to their athletic heroes in the shape of ‘Olympic Village, 6am’.
Coinciding with the start of the Games in Rio, and shunning the synthesisers which graced last year’s ‘Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance’, it’s a joyously propulsive, melodica-led theme tune dedicated to “the Olympic ideal,” according to Stuart Murdoch, adding that the band “love that the world gets together for a big ‘sports day’ once every four years”.
