Not content with being on the new cover of Dork, our mates in Black Honey have released their first ever music video with ‘Hello Today’.
As surreal, brooding and theatrical as you’d expect from the band, ‘Hello Today’ sees Izzy wrestle with herself before driving out into the Joshua Tree Desert and burying her heart in a bid to take back control. Check it out below.
“I think every artist’s dream is to have their vision (as weird/ removed/obscure as it is) fully realised. No compromise & no complaint,” explains Izzy. “For the last two years we have been asked almost daily ‘why have you not done a video?’ The truth is we tried… twice….but needed more time, money & support to make a story that we felt matched exactly what’s inside my head. We can’t believe we’re saying this but this summer we finally got a shot at the vision. I flew to Joshua tree desert to shoot a story I had written in my journal just a few weeks earlier. Hello Today is about a girl trying to put her demons behind her.”
Black Honey are currently on tour with Dream Wife and both bands front the October issue of Dork, which is out Friday 7th November.
