Fresh from releasing their new video for ‘Let’s Pray’, and prior to a bunch of tour dates including a headline show at Scala, Blaenavon are heading to Reading & Leeds.
“It’s the first time we’re playing both,” says the band’s Harris McMillan. “Last time we played it was our label homies Transgressive’s takeover in Leeds which was loads of fun.”
When they weren’t on stage, they spent their time “drinking lots of tins with friends after our show and providing the dancing onstage for the Foals DJ set. I think there was some hip thrusting going on.”
The band play Reading later today (Friday 26th August) and then Leeds tomorrow (Saturday 27th August) on the Festival Republic Stage, alongside Anteros, Lewis Del Mar, Pulled Apart By Horses, Maximo Park and more.
Elsewhere on the line up, they’re looking forward to catching Hinds. “Luckily they’re playing the same day as us. We had the best time watching them smash it at Glastonbury. We said hello afterwards and crushed it together at Grimes avec 1000 beers.”
And as for their own set? “I’m sure something cool will happen. It’s really easy to put on an exciting show with the enthusiastic festival crowds we’ve been having but we tend to roll with whatever occurs on the day to keep it fresh.”
