Blood Orange brings ‘Augustine/Thank You’ to the US telly box

The two ‘Freetown Sound’ tracks paid tribute to victims of oppression and police violence.

Blood Orange brought his critically adored ‘Freetown Sound’ , well – sound, to US television last night (August 23rd), performing both ‘Augustine’ and ‘Thank You’.

Appearing on US chat show Conan, the tracks saw the man otherwise known as Dev Hynes showing off the full spectrum of talent within him, and left a particularly strong mark at the end by bowing to framed pictures of T Mack, Philandro Castille and Hande Kader – all victims of either oppression or police brutality.

‘Freetown Sound’ was released earlier this year, and was Hynes’ third studio record under the Blood Orange moniker.
