The Bronx lose drummer after fourteen years

Jorma Vik praises “the most incredible years of my life”.

Drummer Jorma Vik has announced he has left The Bronx and Mariachi El Bronx after fourteen years with the band.

His statement, posted on Instagram, reads:

“It’s with a multitude of mixed emotions I write this but as of yesterday The Bronx/Mariachi El Bronx and myself have decided to go our separate ways.

“I’m having a very difficult time finding the words to express how grateful I am to everyone who have supported the band(s) over the past 14 years.

“They’ve been the most incredible years of my life and I cannot thank everyone enough for enabling me to fulfil my dreams and aspirations.

Endless love and gratitude to all the friends and fans. Hope to see you all in some shape or form soon. Forever thankful, Jorma Vik.”

The Bronx will play 2000trees next month, and also have a couple of headline dates planned for August, at Glasgow’s King Tut’s and Derby’s Venue.

Their most recent albums, ‘The Bronx’ and ‘Mariachi El Bronx’, were released in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
