Bad Sounds have been a band set for a landmark moment for a while now, and it may have just kicked through with new track ‘Wages’.
Debuted as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World, ‘Wages’ is full of brass, harmonies and infectious rhythms that call to mind the euphoric highs of Beck all draped in a late 70s soulful package that has already turned heads at a variety of festivals this summer.
It’s big basically, and we do love big over here.
Speaking about the track on the ol’ radio dial, the duo said:
“It came out of a bad day at work really, sick of working in retail. Everyone has a bad job which they really don’t like doing – especially in a band.”
Bad Sounds are set to play Bestival this weekend (September 8th-11th) before heading off to support Rat Boy on his UK Tour. They’ll round it out with two headline shows at London’s Camden Assembly on November 29th and The Exchange in Bristol on November 30th.
Have a listen to their chat with Annie Mac along with ‘Wages’ here.
