Late last year, electro-groovers Chairlift announced that they were calling it a day – and now they’ve laid out the details for their final run of show this summer.
Spanning 7 shows in April, the duo made up of Caroline Polachek and Aaron Pfenning will bring a career-spanning night to shows across the US – checking into San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Allston and Philadelphia before closing out their career with a headline night in their adopted home of Brooklyn.
Talking about their reasons for finishing things up, Chairlift explained in a statement last year that “It’s been an incredible ten years as a band, and it blows our mind to be able to say that every goal we had when we started recording in 2006 has been accomplished.”
“The two of us are family at this point, and will undoubtably turn up in each other’s work in the future, but the time has come to take the next step towards where our passions is pulling us”.
Chairlift’s final album, ‘Moth’ was released last year – so get your flights booked and the below banger playing, it’s time to see them out in style.
