We’ve already heard two cuts from ‘Love Is Dead’ – initial megabanger ‘Get Out’, and the glorious ‘My Enemy’, which features The National’s Matt Berninger.
It is an album about growing up and “coming to terms with the fact that there are great things in the world and there are awful things in the world and that you can’t get one without the other,” explains Lauren Mayberry.
While Iain Cook adds, cheerily: “We’re fucked, the world is fucked. But there’s an ellipses at the end. It’s Love Is Dead. Like, how did we get to this point? And how do we move on from this point? It’s Love Is Dead, we’re fucked, what’s next?”
Chvrches have a bunch of live engagements across the summer, including Parklife, TRNSMT and Citadel in the UK. They’re also at Primavera, Best Kept Secret, Southside, Hurricane, Openair, NOS Alive, and loads more further afield.
The track listing for ‘Love Is Dead’ reads:
