Dancehall debut new single ‘Virgin’

It’s the band’s attempt to “back-pedal rock music’s aggressive sexualisation of young people”.

Dancehall, the new band from former members of Kill Kenada and Ice Sea Dead People, have dropped new ‘un ‘Virgin’ – have a listen below, first on Dork.

The London group’s latest track lands on 26th May via Vibe/Anti-Vibe and Strong Island Records, backed by b-side ‘Digging’, and is a kick-back at stupid, unnecessary social pressures.

“We recorded this live at Soundsavers to our three-take rule with Mark Jasper and co-released via our own label and with Strong Island Recordings,” the band explain. “Lyrically, ‘Virgin’ is our attempt to back-pedal rock music’s aggressive sexualisation of young people and open invitation to Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page to be locked up in our hotel room for our upcoming UK tour.”

Catch Dancehall live on tour from 12th May, and at Blissfields on 7th July.
