It’s been a busy week, Dear Reader. We’ve had teasing from The 1975, new material from Bastille and a brand new Arctic Monkeys album arriving tomorrow (more on that later). “Why not add to that?”, we thought, obviously ignoring the fact we work to a pre-organised publishing schedule.
Basically, there’s a new issue of Dork out now.
Marking the end of our second year (cakes to the usual address for next month, please), this month we have our biggest cover feature ever. Not only are we absolutely bloody delighted to be welcoming Chvrches to the cover of Dork for the first time, but we’ve got 11 (ELEVEN!) pages of glorious goodness as the band prepare to release they’re Really Very Good new album ‘Love Is Dead’. Just look at that cover.
Obviously that’s not all we’ve got this time round. There’s everything from scando-pop superstars MØ and Tove Styrke to the brilliant Parquet Courts and returning heroes Drenge. We get a double dose of Paramore (and Paramore related) action as we take a fan’s eye view of the band’s Parahoy cruise and go deep with drummer Zac Farro’s band’s Halfnoise, who are much, much more than just a bit on the side. There’s all the best new bands in Hype, we go down the front with Friendly Fires, Shame, Dua Lipa and more, plus bring all the usual bangers, reviews, reports and, y’know, ‘stuff’.
The new issue of Dork is out today (11th May). You can order a copy, or subscribe, below, or pick it up from one of our excellent stockists nationwide in venues, bars and record shops.
