How To Dress Well’s new album ‘Care’ lands later this month (23rd September), and it was something of a reawakening for Tom Krell, who finds himself in a much more positive frame of mind.
“It’s been a period of intense opening,” he explains in the new issue of Dork. “I realised there’s so much more to love in the world. So much more to invest in than I had given the world credit for.”
“Part of growing up in the 90s, there was still a lot of nihilism to shed and I think that’s happening globally now,” Krell continues. “People are shedding off the last layers of nihilism that we’ve been stuck in and trapped under for the last 25 years.
“One simple thing is that I don’t need to write another song about how I don’t feel good; I can write a song about sex! Really wet, physical sex.”
