Dua Lipa calls Glastonbury 2017 her “favourite thing ever”

Her John Peel stage set went rather well, then.

Dua Lipa reckons her Glastonbury performance was her “favourite thing ever”.

With a crowd going off the chain during her John Peel stage set, the singer was appreciative of their efforts. “They were crazy,” she told Dork after the set. “I was blown away by them. It really struck me. I went out into the audience, and I stood on the barrier, and they were holding my hand. We were singing together, and I was like, ‘This is a moment I’ll never forget for the rest of my life’. It was just my favourite thing ever; I loved it. Loved it, loved it.”

Her set earlier in the day was packed with trademark bangers. Kicking off with ‘Hotter Than Hell’, it’s a group of songs that’s rapidly turning into a parade of A-list radio anthems. Packing the sassy as fuck ‘Blow Your Mind (Mwah)’ and ‘Be The One’, as well as Sean Paul collab ‘No Lie’ and Martin Garrix hook up ‘Scared To Be Lonely’, it’s no surprise the crowd sang back every note at one of the most rammed stages of Friday.

“I did the same stage last year,” she continued “At the time I did Glastonbury last year a lot of it was word of mouth, and a lot of it was buzz. A lot of people came down to see me, and it was really exciting. The tent was full. I didn’t think it could get any better. This year before I went on stage I was like, shit maybe no one’s going to come because they had already seen me last year. But it was just such a crazy outcome; it’s been a massive step up since the album’s come out. It’s insane.”
