Dutch Uncles are back in a ‘Big Balloon’ with their new album and single

The band’s latest full length is coming next February.

Dutch Uncles have announced a brand new album for next year.

Titled ‘Big Balloon’, the band’s follow up to 2015’s ‘O Shudder’ will land on 17th February 2017 via Memphis Industries. It comes alongside the record’s title track, which you can check out below.

“As soon as recording began, it felt like the perfect response to the feelings of abandonment we’d been harbouring recently,” says vocalist and lyricist Duncan Wallis.

“At times, it felt as though our ideas were quickly going out of fashion – the “Psychedelic” tag seemingly now attached to pretty much any new artist with a chorus pedal – but “Big Balloon” feels like the perfect distillation of everything we set out to achieve on the new record.”

“The song “Big Balloon” helped steer the direction of the songs written afterwards which became the album Big Balloon,” adds composer Robin Richards. “It reminded us of the potency of the electric guitar, and brought them back as focal instruments on the record.”

The band are also heading out on tour next March, where they’ll kick off in Edinburgh before playing shows in Newcastle, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Sheffield, Oxford, Bristol, Brighton, Southampton and London before finishing up in Manchester.
