Ezra Koenig has taken to Instagram to give an update on the new Vampire Weekend album.
Bad news: It’s not done.
Good news: We’ve got lots of tidbits of information to get excited by.
“We gotta take our time & get it right but the fans deserve some information. I know it feels like it’s been an eternity since the last one but time…is strange,” the post begins. 2016 saw Ezra writing the album and they are spending 2017 recording it, “trying to finish ASAP”. There’s a working title of “‘Mitsubishi Macchiato’ cuz it is a helpful concept” and two songs currently called ‘Conversation’ and ‘Flower Moon’. Also, “it’s a lil more springtime than the last one. Guitar’s not dead,” so that’s nice.
Though Ezra does finish by explaining, “I should probably stop there cuz all of that information is subject to change & I can’t tell you the really good stuff anyway.”
