Fat White Family have dropped a stomper of a new track, in the shape of ‘Breaking Into Aldi’.
Produced by Sean Lennon and the band’s Saoudi brothers and co-written with the Black Lips’ Cole Alexander and K Holes’ Zumi Roscow, ‘Breaking Into Aldi’ is the band’s first new material since they released their acclaimed second studio album ‘Songs For Our Mothers’ earlier in the year.
Talking about the track, frontman Lias Saoudi said:
“This song is a post apocalyptic vision of a barely united United Kingdom bereft of quality German supermarkets and their insipid low prices; ‘Breaking Into Aldi’ is the anthem that never was, a call to arms for the senselessness of our future futility, an overcrowded shadow begging for a rerun, a sell out by sell-outs for sell-outs.
“This Fat Whites collaboration with Cole Alexander of Black Lips, Sean Lennon and Zumi Roscow of K Holes is by all intents and purposes the sound of hopelessness attempting to bleed itself dry.”
So as happy as ever then.
Fat White Family are set to play their biggest headline show to date at London’s Brixton Academy on September 17th.
Dream about ‘Breaking Into Aldi’ below, and then listen to it of course…
