Father John Misty drops some ‘Generic Pop Songs’, and takes over Twitter in one swoop

Usually, some people see Sunday as a day of rest. For Father John Misty, that sort of thinking ain’t going to work – with Father J unveiling three satirical new tracks and returning to Twitter with an almighty bang.

Released early on Sunday, Father John dropped three “Generic Pop Songs” – playing on pop’s most repeated formulas with bangers that we’re pretty sure would steal the charts in an instant. After all, Father John Misty is probably the pop star we all really need.

Father John Misty’s new album ‘Pure Comedy’ is set to land on April 7th, featuring the already unveiled title track, ‘Total Entertainment Forever’ and ‘Ballad Of The Dying Man’. He’ll return to the UK at the end of this month for a slot at this year’s 6 Music Festival before a headline slot later in the summer at End Of The Road.
