Fishbach arrives in the UK next month for a show in London and what’s no doubt going to be a high-demand showcase at The Great Escape. But before then, she’s debuting her new video for ‘Y Crois-Tu’ (“Do You Believe It”) below, first on Dork.
“My friend Rod Huart filmed the video in a few hours towards the end of last year,” she explains. “I had this idea of a succession of shots lit only by screens, like a modern transposition of the paintings of Georges de la Tour. We did this in the purgatory, my parents’ attic in Charleville-Mézières, which is where I composed the songs from my album. We also filmed some scenes on the Vieilles Forges lakeside, where my first video ‘Beton mouillé’ took place. It was a way of completing the cycle.”
Visiting from Charleville-Mézières in the East of France, Fishbach will play London’s Birthdays on 17th May, followed by The Great Escape two days later.
