Flight of the Conchords have come a long way from playing to superfan Mel in a New York aquarium. In the space of 8 years they’ve gone from being shushed in public libraries to selling out enormodomes across the world.
From the reaction of many despairing fans on Twitter, it appears “New Zealand’s fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo” (their words) have totally sold out their mammoth UK tour early next year.
Fans have been abuzz with anticipation since Bret and Jemaine announced their long awaited return earlier this week, but many are now miffed at having missed out on tickets for one of New York’s hottest exports since the Crazy Dogs. With the duo amassing a legion of loyal fans, and the secondary ticketing market making its presence felt, it was a case of ‘Too Many Dicks On The Dancefloor’ when tickets went on sale.
Some expressed anger at tickets selling out and immediately appearing on secondary ticket sites at vastly inflated prices, a phenomenon that’s becoming all too familiar. It’s fair to say there’s some ‘Hurt Feelings’ going round this morning.

Others took a magnanimous approach, taking a leaf out of Jemaine’s book.

The secondary ticketing ‘Mutha Uckers’ didn’t snap up all the tickets though.
