The rumours were true. We’ve got a new ‘Florence + The Machine’ track.
The much anticipated ‘Sky Full Of Song’ has arrived with a black and white video in tow.
“This was a song that just fell out of the sky fully formed,” explains Florence. “Sometimes when you are performing you get so high, it’s hard to know how to come down. There is this feeling of being cracked open, rushing endlessly outwards and upwards, and wanting somebody to hold you still, bring you back to yourself. It’s an incredible, celestial, but somehow lonely feeling.”
A minimalistic take for our Flo, it’s still a devestatingly impacting track with an ear worm chorus. You can check it out in full below.
There’s no official news on that new album yet, though rumours suggest it’ll be called ‘High As Hope’ and arrive in June – perhaps the 29th, depending on who you believe.
Florence + The Machine look set to join a busy period for the biggest acts. We’ve got Tranquility baes Arctic Monkeys arriving with a new record next month, where they’ll be joined by a Chvrches at the height of their powers. We’re expecting The 1975 to unleash ‘Music For Cars’ at some point during the sunny season, and Years & Years are definitely building up to something exciting. All that’s without even starting to speculate when Vampire Weekend might bring the buzz. Read more about what we’re expecting over the next few months in our Big Indie Summer guide here.
