Following a Friday still buzzing with memories of that banger packed end of Radiohead’s headline set, and Lorde’s hour long Glasto moment, the Saturday of Glastonbury is getting ready to go, with a headline clash fest for the ages.
Foo Fighters top the bill on the Pyramid Stage, returning to the slot they were due to take up in 2015 but had to cancel after Dave Grohl took a nasty fall. They’re not going to have it all their own way though.
On the Other Stage, Dork cover stars Alt-J are heading things up, with their new album ‘Relaxer’ ready to bring some unconventional brilliance to Glastonbury’s second arena. That’s not all though – Phoenix will bring home the John Peel Stage at the same point, while Warpaint will play into the early hours on The Park Stage.
And if you want something with a bit of heritage, The Jacksons will follow Solange on the West Holts Stage.
Elsewhere there are faves aplenty. Run The Jewels’ set, where they’ll be introduced by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, should be one of the standout images of Glastonbury 2017. After them comes Katy Perry and The National, making one of the most unexpected but brilliant runs in recent festival memory.
Whitney, British Sea Power, Wild Beasts and Stormzy all play the Other Stage, where the circus will have all eyes on Liam Gallagher’s mid afternoon solo set. No, Noel probably won’t show up.
Add to that Dork mainstays The Magic Gang, The Big Moon, Mura Masa, INHEAVEN and Rat Boy, as well as The Avalanches, The Amazons, Loyle Carner, Father John Misty, Sigrid, Temples, Muncie Girls, Sad13, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and roughly a billion other amazing acts, and you’re set for a great Saturday.
And we’ve not even had to mention Busted.
