Four Tet has announced he’s to bring his all-nighters back to London’s Brixton Academy, with two shows later this year.
Taking place on 14th and 15th October, they’ll run from 10pm until 6am the following morning with different line ups on each night, and tickets that cost just £5.
“I spent a lot of time as a teenager in Brixton Academy,” says Kieran Hebden on Facebook, “and it has been mentioned before that memories of seeing Fugazi play there with no light show and a cheap ticket inspired me to put on these nights.
“Due to recent events in the UK and other places I have also been reminded of seeing Rage Against The Machine play a benefit there for the Anti Nazi League in 1993. They were so crazy good and the music changed my life but also it meant a lot to share the experience with people coming together against racism.
“It is tragic and disturbing that racist ideas and attitudes seem to have such a presence and platform around us at the moment so I think we should use these all night raves to celebrate and embrace the unity, love and solidarity events like this can bring us when we are faced with such intolerance and hate in the world.”
