Another day, another development in the wonderful world of Frank Ocean and streaming services.
Last week, Frank’s new album ‘Blonde’ finally showed up on Spotify, following an exclusive period on Apple Music. Hurrah! Except it’s already gone again. Boo!
As Pitchfork reports, each track is now greyed out and unavailable to play in the Spotify app. This follows reports that the album wasn’t exactly being pushed by the service. Unlike other exclusives to appear later, tracks from ‘Blonde’ didn’t feature in several key editorial playlists or featured slots upon its arrival.
Update: According to a representative, talking to The Fader, ‘Blonde’ will be back “any minute now”. It’s just a technical hiccup. That was worth all our time, wasn’t it?
