What a week. With everything going off, there’s no doubt what the biggest story of the week is. We’ve been waiting forever, but tomorrow we’re finally getting what we’ve been after for as long as we can remember.
No, not him. The new issue of Dork is out on Friday, August 5th. Durr.
August’s magazine features the brilliant Glass Animals on the cover. We pop round frontman Dave Bayley’s mum’s house to find out ‘How to be a Human Being’. We’re not socially inept. That’s the name of their brillo second album, due out later this month.
Elsewhere there’s more great bands than you can shake a glow stick at. There’s Wild Beasts, who have shifted position on their latest full-length ‘Boy King’ to dramatic effect. There’s Moose Blood, who have dropped an album so good it deserves to cross over all the musical lanes. There’s Ezra Furman, Slow Club, Alt-J‘s Thom Sonny Green, Blossoms, Of Montreal. It’s easier to say what there isn’t, if we’re honest.
We also preview Reading & Leeds, with Biffy Clyro talking before their second shot at the headline slot, the best bill-topper picked by their peers, and a whole bunch of bands you should check out profiled. White Lies give us the lowdown on their forthcoming album ‘Friends’, Honeyblood make us a killer, bangin’ play-list, Black Peaks send us a postcard and Deap Vally take on our 20 questions.
As if that wasn’t enough, Hype introduces Toothless, The Parrots, Black Foxxes and LANY, plus all the latest reviews, including what went down at Latitude 2016.
Yeah. We know. Loads. You can pick up a copy tomorrow (August 5th) from record stores, bars and venues around the UK. If you don’t want to have to go searching one out, you can buy one – or subscribe – here. Knock yourself out.
