Glass Animals have today shared the video for their latest single ‘Agnes’.
‘Agnes’ is taken from their Mercury Prize nominated album ‘How To Be A Human Being’, and is the most personal song vocalist Dave Bayley has ever written. “There are varying degrees of autobiography and my own life in each song I write…but for the most part, that stuff is buried and clouded in fiction or blended with other peoples’ lives that I’ve heard about in taxis or at parties or on the street,” he says. “But there is one song that stands apart from the rest. It is the most truthful, honest, and personal story I have ever written, and that song is ‘Agnes’.”
The video is an abstract exploration of grief, and features Dave strapped in to a Human Centrifuge machine used by pilots in g-force training. The faster the machine spins, the heavier Dave’s body gets, and the more difficult the song becomes to perform. You can watch it below.
