Good Charlotte have enlisted Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil for their new album.
Speaking to Philadelphia’s Radio 104.5, the band’s Joel Madden reveals: “We did a song with Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro. I love that band and I’ve always been a fan, so to work with him was awesome and to do a song together was incredible. The record was definitely a really fun one to make. We’re always in the studio with other artists so collaborations are becoming a natural thing for us.”
Neil isn’t the only name popping up on Good Charlotte’s big comeback album, though. “We have a song we did with Kellin (Quinn) from Sleeping With Sirens on the record which was a really cool,” Madden continues. “We love him and we love that band and that was a really natural collaboration. It just happened, much like all the collaborations we’ve ever done. We did a collaboration with Avenged Sevenfold years ago that was just the same thing, we were just hanging out and then we jumped in and did a song.
“The first song on the record is called ‘Life Changes‘. I actually got my son, who’s six years old, to do some stuff on it so that song’s obviously special to me. More than half the record is really high energy, some of the songs are heavier than we’ve ever done before and there are some big, bright ballads and some pop stuff.”
So there we go. The new Good Charlotte album features lots of people not in Good Charlotte. You can expect to hear more when they release a new single on April 4th, ahead of a summer release for the new full-length.
