Continuing that flaming hot road to the release of new album ‘Humanz’ on Friday (April 28th), Gorillaz have unveiled new track ‘The Apprentice’ – one of the bonus tracks on the incoming record.
Featuring the potent tones of the BRIT winning Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Sound Of… supremo Ray BLK, the track is a swaggering melting pot of undeniable soul, electo flourishes and that unmistakable Gorillaz’ charm that’s bound to get Alan Sugar all hyped up in the boardroom.
‘The Apprentice’ follows on from the previously revealed ‘Andromeda’, ‘Saturnz Barz’, ‘Ascension’, ‘We Got The Power’ and ‘Let Me Out’ as teasing anthems from new album ‘Humanz’ – the first Gorillaz album in seven years. Featuring a ton of guest appearances (see Jehnny Beth, Noel Gallagher, Grace Jones, Vince Staples and more), it’s pretty certain to blow many a sock off when it lands on Friday, and sure to sound even bigger when the band headline their own Demon Dayz Festival in June at Margate’s Dreamland.
