Grimes has offered up another sneaky Instagram update on her new material.
Following a post about her new collab with Janelle Monae, she tells a fan asking about music that she’s just had a month off, but has “sooooo many songs”.
She’s also hinted once more at difficulties behind the scenes, saying: “A lot of insane shit went down and I’m reorienting my whole life.”
Earlier this year, she publicly called her record label 4AD “shit”, before apologising: “I’m sorry negative shit I said ended up in the press today. I didn’t mean to spread bad vibes.”
She’s been teasing the follow up to 2015’s ‘Art Angels’ – which was thought to be landing this year, but who knows? – for a while now.
“I kno i’ve been quiet lately,” she Instagrammed in August 2017. “in the studio every day trying to legit make something you’ve never heard before. unexplored sonic landscapes. i need another month or 2 of pure unadulterated creativity at which point i will begin finishing tracks. won’t let u down.”
