Franz Ferdinand guitarist Nick McCarthy won’t take part in the recording or touring of the band’s next album, they’ve announced.
“When we record and tour, it takes a long, full-time commitment lasting a minimum of a year and a half, most of which is spent away from home,” they explain. “Nick has a young family and does not want to be away from them for such a long period.”

The band are currently working towards the follow up to 2013’s ‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action’, and their 2015 collaborative effort with Sparks, ‘FFS’.
