Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam have covered a Walkmen song, and it’s glorious

They dip into Leithauser’s old band with ease – it’s an emotional one

For the past month or so, we’ve been rounding off our evenings with a glass of bourbon and Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam’s album ‘I Had A Dream That You Were Mine’ – it’s already a classic in our eyes.

Aside from that record though, Hamilton and Rostam have their own impressive catalogues from previous bands, with one such number from Hamilton’s previous outfit The Walkmen getting a fresh makeover from the duo recently.

Appearing on US radio station SiriusXMU, the duo covered ‘If Only It Were True’ from the band’s 2008 album ‘You & Me’. With a touch of Rostam on it, it becomes a hearty winter warmer packed with raw emotion and intensity like never before.

Hamilton Leithauser is set to return to the UK next year, bringing ‘I Had A Dream That You Were Mine’ around the country, minus Rostam, for holy evenings that we’re already preparing a road trip for.

Have a listen to ‘If Only It Were True’ below,
