Head down the boozer with Barat and Doherty as the Libertines duo ‘do’ an acoustic turn in Margate

We only came for the crisps, lads.

You go down your local boozer for a nice shandy, maybe a bag of crisps to share, and who’s their banging their instruments but the bloody Libertines?

That’s what happened in a Margate pub last night, as the Libs chief troublemakers Carl Barat and Pete ‘Peter’ Doherty got used to their new home by bashing out a banger at the town’s Taprooms pub.

Footage posted by Barat on Instagram sees the duo performing an acoustic version of ‘Death On The Stairs’. It follows a band appearance for just 80 people at Margate’s Tom Thumb Theatre on Wednesday.

The Libertines are set to open a hotel-slash-studio-thingy in the Kent town. Absolutely nothing could possibly go wrong.
