Yak only just dropped their debut album earlier this year, and they’re already blessing us with new music.
The trio will drop a double A-side single on October 28th with one half, ‘Heavens Above’, streaming online now. You’ll have to wait for the other – ‘Semi-Automatic’, which will probably be the last thing you hear before the band get to work on album two. Recorded with Steve Mackey, who also produced the full-length ‘Alas Salvation’, you can check it out below.
“In-between touring in August we managed to squeeze a day in the studio with Mr Mackey and put down 4 tracks that we had written on the road,” explains Oli Burslem. “‘Heavens Above’ and ‘Semi-Automatic’ are a result of that session and will be the last thing we release before disappearing and getting ready to record the next record. Both tracks are a simple and direct response to what is current and what we have seen, read and been part of over the period since the band started touring”
