It looks like we might be about to get our first taster of new material from Interpol.
Listings have confirmed the band are set to appear on US TV show The Late Show with Stephen Colbert next Friday, 8th June. Coupled with recent teasing, it’s possible it could be a hint that we’ll be getting new music at some point over the next week.,
The NYC trio have been hard at work on the follow-up to 2014’s ‘El Pintor’ for a while now, revealing last year: “We’re currently working on a new Interpol record which we look forward to sharing with you in 2018.”
Last month, Interpol shared teaser for their upcoming album, posting some Bowie-featuring artwork online. The new artwork was accompanied by the caption “mastering”, suggesting they were in the final stages of production.
Interpol can be found supporting The Cure at this year’s British Summer Time this July, alongside Goldfrapp, Editors, Pale Waves, Ride, Slowdive and The Twilight Sad and more.
