It looks like Fox Sports Australia have told us when we’re getting new material from The Killers.
According to the Aussie broadcasters, Brandon Flowers and co. will drop their fifth studio album on 20th September. It’ll be preceded by lead single ‘The Man’, which is set to arrive next Thursday, 15th June.
The news came as it was confirmed that the band would perform at the AFL Grand Final.
“Las Vegas rockers The Killers are set to headline the musical entertainment at this year’s AFL grand final,” the broadcaster writes. “Although the league refused to ratify it when contacted by Foxfooty.com.au on Wednesday, music industry sources have confirmed the American band is locked in for the biggest day on the football calendar, but won’t play any additional Australian shows.”
“The band will release its first album since 2012 just 10 days before the AFL’s showcase event on September 30,” they continue, “and have been on the league’s wishlist for some time, with rumours first circulating via 3AW Radio last month that they could be headed down under. They are also set to release their new single ‘The Man’ on Thursday June 15.”
The news comes after a whole bunch of teasing over recent days, ahead of their appearance in London’s Hyde Park next month.
