It sounds like there could actually be two versions of St. Vincent’s ‘MASSEDUCTION’

There could be a second, stripped back version of the new album.

Apparently, there’s a whole different version of St. Vincent’s new album ‘MASSEDUCTION’ to the one we’re going to hear when it’s released next month.

We’ve already heard two tracks from the much anticipated new full-length, the fabulous ‘New York’ and equally brilliant ‘Los Ageless’, but there’s way more to the new record than we previously thought, and – reading between the lines – we may get to hear it.

A new Rolling Stone piece about St. Vincent reports that Annie Clark made an “alternate, stripped-down” version of ‘MASSEDUCTION’ before turning in the final version to her label. Recorded with Thomas Bartlett, the French musician who records as Doveman and also appears on the ‘proper’ record, the article says a release date for the alternate version “has not been announced”.

Which, y’know, suggests it might be? Yes. We know. We’re still waiting for Charli XCX’s lost punk record too, but you have to dream.

‘MASSEDUCTION’ is set for release on 13th October.
